‘Money over name’ – Brown Ideye backs Victor Osimhen to secure the bag

Brown Ideye has addressed critics questioning his advice to Victor Osimhen about considering a move to Saudi Arabia, arguing that financial stability is a key factor for players.
Ideye, a former Super Eagles forward who won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, suggested that while some fans might view his advice as self-serving, his perspective is rooted in practicality.
Ideye pointed out that many players who have brought glory to Nigeria are not widely remembered, and emphasized that securing a lucrative contract is crucial for a player’s future.
He humorously highlighted that financial success can help provide for one’s family and fulfill personal dreams, contrasting this with the fleeting nature of football fame.
“Who really remembers the names of all the players who have brought glory to this nation?” Ideye asked.
“When you have the chance to secure a good deal, you have to take it. My agent wouldn’t even be able to stop me! You can’t use your name to pay for your children’s education or buy that dream house or car. And you certainly can’t tell your wife to use your name to shop for groceries!”
