Olisa Ndah scores to lead Orlando Pirates into MTN8 semi-final

Defender Olisa Ndah inspired South African side Orlando Pirates to a 3-1 win against Supersport United in the quarter-final of the MTN8 Cup.

The former Remo Stars player who captained his side during the game opened scoring for the host at the Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg in the 44th minute from Monnapule Saleng’s assist.

Four minutes into the second half, Maliele Vincent Pule equalized for SuperSport United, which took the game into extra time.

Saleng restored the Pirates’ lead two minutes into the extra time, while Evidence Makgopa put the game beyond SuperSport’s reach in the 107th minute.

Nda played the duration of the match for the Pirates, playing a crucial role in his side’s victory.

He played for Remo Stars and Akwa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) before moving to the Premiership Soccer League (PSL) with Pirates.

They will next face Disciples from Madagascar in the Preliminary Round of the CAF Champions League on August 17, 2024.
