Alex Iwobi wins best player award in Fulham’s friendly win over Benfica

Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi was named best player in the preseason encounter between Fulham and Benfica, Nigeriafootball.ng reports.

Iwobi scored the decisive goal for Fulham to beat the Portuguese side 1-0 in the encounter played at the Estadio Algarve.

The 27-year-old slotted the ball home from inside the box in the 21st minute after he was set up by Antonee Robinson.

The Super Eagles’ midfielder was replaced by Martial Godo 11 minutes from time.

Iwobi’s international teammate, Calvin Bassey was also in action in the game.

Fulham will continue their preparation for new season with another encounter against LaLiga club Sevilla on Monday, August 5.

The Cottagers will kickstart the new English Premier League, EPL season with a clash against Manchester United on August 16th.
