Paris 2024: Super Falcons emerge as fifth youngest team at Olympics

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team ended the women’s football tournament of the Paris 2024 Olympics as the fourth youngest out of the 12 teams that qualified for the competition.

The age of players in each squad was put into consideration in arriving at the youngest and oldest teams.

According to the women’s football portal, Soccerdonna, the Super Falcons have an average of 26.5 in age to emerge as the fifth youngest team.

2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup winners reached the quarter-final of the tournament, Japan has 25.4. The team has the youngest team.

World champions, Spain, with 25.9, fielded the second youngest squad ahead of Zambia and New Zealand (both with 25.9).

The nine-time African champions fielded a young squad ahead of the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) with 27.0.

Brazil (27.1), Germany (27.3), Canada (27.4), Colombia (27.8), Australia (28.3), and France (28.8) have the oldest squad.
