President Bola Tinubu congratulates Remo Stars on historic NPFL title triumph

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Remo Stars Football Club on their historic victory in the 2024-2025 Nigerian Premier Football League.

This achievement highlights Ikenne and Ogun State, bringing pride to the region.

In his message, President Tinubu praises the team’s success, which comes four years after their promotion to Nigeria’s top league.

He calls it a sign of the players’ dedication, discipline, and strong spirit, along with the efforts of coaches and management.

The President commends the team’s resilience and determination.

He points out their courage after falling just short three times before securing the league title.

He hopes their example inspires other Nigerian clubs to chase their dreams with focus and hope.

He also appreciates the efforts of the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname.

His support for grassroots football, including building a first-class stadium in Ikenne, is a key part of Nigeria’s sports growth.

As league winners, Remo Stars will compete in the CAF Champions League. President Tinubu urges the team to bring the same energy and dedication to winning Africa’s top honours.

He encourages football fans across Nigeria to support the team as they carry the country’s hopes onto the continental stage.
