Puel Assures Iheanacho and Musa Opportunities in Leicester City Line-up

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has offered assurance to Nigerian forwards Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa, emphasizing that both players will have opportunities in the starting line-up for the Foxes in the near future. While acknowledging the intense competition for starting spots, Puel urged Iheanacho, in particular, to be prepared to seize the chance when it arises.

In a pre-match interview, Puel commented on the challenges of managing a squad with multiple talented players, stating, “He (Iheanacho) is a good player, but he must improve when he finds his place in the squad. We have a lot of players in this position. It is good competition between them, perhaps a little more because for one or two positions we have six possibilities.”

Leicester City boasts a wealth of attacking options, including Iheanacho, Islam Slimani, Ahmed Musa, Shinji Okazaki, Leo Ulloa, and Jamie Vardy. Puel emphasized the importance of balancing game time for these players, given the demanding schedule of fixtures every three days.

“It will need all these players with good qualities and attitude,” Puel added. “They need to work hard in the training sessions to keep a good level. Of course, all the players want game time, but the balance is difficult because we have a lot of players in the same position.”

Leicester City, currently occupying the 12th position in the English Premier League table with 13 points from 12 games, is gearing up for their next fixture against West Ham at the Olympic Stadium on Friday. The assurance from Puel signals the club’s commitment to maximizing the potential of their talented squad as they navigate a competitive season.
