Rumour Mills: Trabzonspor makes fresh player-plus-cash bid for Onuachu

By Wale Mustapha
Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor have revived their interest in signing Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu on a permanent transfer from English outfit Southampton, Nigeriafootball.ng reports.
Onuachu played for Trabzonspor last season when he joined them on loan and made a significant impact.
The lanky forward impressed with 17 goals and four assists across all competitions, helping Trabzonspor earn their former champion status.
His performance caught the attention of the Turkish club’s management, who now want to secure his services long-term.
However, Trabzonspor’s initial attempts to sign Onuachu were hindered by their inability to meet Southampton’s €10m valuation of the player.
According to Fotomac, a news tabloid, Trabzonspor has now submitted a new proposal to Southampton, involving a player plus an undisclosed amount as an offer which further expressed their determination to sign Onuachu.
The success of Trabzonspor’s new proposal hangs in the balance, as Southampton considers the offer.
Onuachu’s future remains uncertain, with his current contract at Southampton set to expire in June 2026.
