Sanusi commends stakeholders as the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League kicks off in Birnin Kebbi

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi (MON), the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, has expressed his appreciation to beach soccer stakeholders across the nation for their commitment to the sport. The fifth season of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) commenced with its first round of matches on Monday, March 31, in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.

Eight teams embarked on their quest for the championship title this season, including the defending champions Kebbi Fishers BSC, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, Kebbi United BSC, Kada BSC from Kaduna State, Nmanko Patigi BSC from Kwara State, Jigawa Golden Star BSC, Ibom BSC from Akwa Ibom State, and Niger BSC.

During his attendance at the opening round of the NBSL, Sanusi commended the League Management, headed by Mahmud Hadejia, for their exemplary efforts, which were further supported by the NFF Beach Soccer and Futsal Committee. He also recognized the backing of the Kebbi State Government and the Kebbi State Football Association.

“It has been a spectacular event, and we give thanks to God for this success. Alhaji Mahmud Hadejia, President of the African Beach Soccer Union (ABSU) and Coordinator of the NBSL, has performed admirably and continues to excel.

“We take great pride in him, both in Kebbi State and throughout Nigeria. We extend our gratitude to the Governor of Kebbi State for his support and encourage him to maintain this assistance. Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan, Chairman of the Kebbi State Football Association, has consistently supported football initiatives from the early days of our involvement to the present.”

He further stated, “We urge the Kebbi State Government to provide him with the utmost support for continued success. We appreciate the people of Kebbi State for their unwavering support of beach soccer and the Kebbi State Football Association. Our gratitude also extends to the media members for their contributions. Football, beach soccer, and sporting activities.”
