Osun United Technical Adviser Seun Ajayi has attributed the club’s qualification for the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoffs to team consistency and stability over the past two seasons.
The Omoluabi Giants secured the final Southern Conference playoff spot on the last day of the regular season with a 3–1 win over First Bank FC at the Lanreke Sports Complex, Ile-Ogbo, on Saturday.
Ajayi said maintaining the core of the squad over two seasons played a critical role in their success.
“I think it’s just the consistency of the team. We tried to keep the players together for two seasons now, which really helped our performance,” he said, speaking to Daily Post after the match.
Ajayi, who took over Osun United when the team was still in the amateur league, has overseen its steady rise through the ranks.
“With God’s grace, we got promoted to the NNL, spent two seasons there, and now here we are in the playoffs,” he added.
“The win has undoubtedly boosted the team’s morale, and we will look to build on this momentum in the push for promotion to the top flight.”
Osun United will face Kun Khalifah, Crown FC, and Warri Wolves in the Southern Conference of the NNL Super Eight playoffs, as they aim to secure a return to the Nigerian top division.
