Super Falcons Set for April Friendly Against Cape Verde

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, are scheduled to take on Cape Verde in an international friendly match this April as part of their preparations for upcoming continental and global competitions.

The fixture is expected to serve as a key opportunity for both teams to assess their squads, experiment with tactics, and build team chemistry ahead of major tournaments, including the next edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The planned encounter follows Nigeria’s recent two-legged friendly against Cameroon in Yaoundé during the last FIFA international window between February and March 2026, where the team continued to fine-tune its performance.

The Super Falcons’ training camp is set to open on April 11 in Nigeria, with invited players expected to report for preparations leading up to the friendly match.

For Nigeria, the game will provide the technical crew with another chance to evaluate squad depth, integrate new players, and maintain the strong core that has delivered consistent success on the African stage.

Cape Verde, meanwhile, will look to use the match as a valuable learning experience, testing their progress against one of Africa’s most dominant women’s football teams and gaining exposure to high-level competition.

The friendly also reflects ongoing efforts to increase international match opportunities for the Super Falcons, who have faced limited fixtures in recent times despite their status in African football.

Details regarding the venue and kickoff time have yet to be confirmed, but the match is expected to take place within the April international window.

As preparations intensify, Nigeria will aim to build momentum and further strengthen their position as a powerhouse in African women’s football ahead of future challenges.
