Nigeria forward Victor Boniface was the hero of the match as he scored his third brace of the season to inspire Bayer Leverkusen to a dominant 4-1 victory over FC Heidenheim in a German Bundesliga encounter on Sunday.
The 22-year-old scored just nine minutes into the game after collecting a pass from Exequiel Palacios and using his power and neat control to pivot past Heidenheim defender Siersleben and drill a crisp low shot beyond Kevin Mueller.
The visitors found the leveler through Eren Dinkci who collected Jan-Niklas Beste’s pass and found the bottom corner.

Boniface once again marked his name on the scoresheet from the penalty spot after VAR adjudged Heidenheim’s Lennard Maloney to have fouled Alex Grimaldo in the box in the 74th minute.
The Super Eagles star has now scored six goals in five league games and currently sits third on the top scorer chart with one goal behind Harry Kane and four more to catch up with leading scorer, Serhou Guirassy who has 10 goals.
Amine Adli rounded up the rout with eight minutes of regular time remaining.
