Victor Osimhen: AC Milan legend Filipo Inzaghi makes remarks on Nigerian striker

One of the greatest strikers in Italian and world football, Filipo Inzaghi has described Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as one of the best in Serie A.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 in a deal worth €75million. The 23-year-old striker could not find his footing in his first season because of injuries and inability to adapt to new environment.

However, Osimhen performed creditably in his second season scoring 18 goals in 32 appearances and the Nigerian striker has also upped his game in the current campaign as he has been very consistent for the Partenopeans with ten goals in 14 games making him the current top scorer in the Lega Calcio.

Inzaghi who won the 2006 World Cup with Italy said he’s impressed with Osimhen’s qualities adding that hr posses more qualities than other notable strikers like Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and AC Milan’s Olivier Giroud.

“If we think of Napoli, Osimhen is a true center-forward, he attacks deep, and keeps the ball, Osimhen is probably the best right now. beyond Benzema, who however is less of an area center forward and perhaps than Giroud.

Osimhen is on course to make notable history at Napoli as they sit top of the Serie A table with eight points above second place AC Milan.

Winning the Serie A this season will make the Partenopeans to end their 30 years’ wait of winning the Scudetto. It will also cement Osimhen’s cult hero status in the Naples.
