Victor Osimhen has admitted that the second-leg clash between Galatasaray S.K. and Liverpool F.C. will be a difficult encounter despite his side securing a narrow victory in the first leg.
The Nigeria National Football Team striker played a key role as the Turkish champions gained a slim advantage over the Premier League side, strengthening their hopes of progressing in the competition.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen acknowledged the challenge awaiting his team in the return fixture.
“The return leg next week will be difficult, but I have faith in my lads. I’m proud to have won today,” Osimhen said.
The 25-year-old also expressed his delight at settling in well since joining Galatasaray and thanked the club’s supporters for their warm reception.
“I’m very happy to have come to Galatasaray. I’m grateful for the love they’ve shown me and my family,” he added.
The decisive second leg will take place at Anfield, where the aggregate winner will progress to the quarter-final stage of the competition.
