Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen scored in each half to help Napoli for their maiden quarterfinal of UEFA Champions League following a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Round of 16 second leg tie in Italy on Wednesday.

The runaway Serie A leader however cruised to 5-0 on aggregate against the reigning Europa League winner after earning 2-0 win in Germany forth night ago.

Frankfurt knew they have an enormous task on their arrival at the Naples as they will need to score three to upturn the first leg result.

The German side however started the game well but had to deal with much defending with their goalkeeper, Kevin Trapp to thank for his heroic saves for most parts of the first half.

Trapp kept out a good scoring opportunities from Matteo Politano, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen.

The German shot stopper could not have an answer to Napoli’s first goal of the night that came in the added time of the first half when Politano’s cross from the right found the unmarked Victor Osimhen, who headed into the far corner making him the first Napoli player to score in both legs of a UEFA Champions League knockout tie.

The Super Eagles forward doubled the Partonopei’s lead 10 minutes into restart as he arrived in the box timely to stab home a low cross from Napoli captain, Giovanni di Lorenzo.

It went from bad to worse for Frankfurt in the late minute as Djibril Sow tripped Piotr Zieliński inside the area and the Napoli forward chose himself to take the spot kick to cap a brilliant and historic night for the Italians.
