Victor Osimhen lauds Gabriel Sara’s role in Galatasaray’s comeback win over Göztepe

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has praised teammate Gabriel Sara for his pivotal role in Galatasaray’s 3-1 comeback victory over Göztepe, a result that maintained the Lions’ unbeaten run in the Turkish Super Lig.

Osimhen, along with Sara and Mauro Icardi, all found the back of the net as Galatasaray secured another impressive win at RAMS Park. The attacking trio showcased the team’s depth and offensive power, with each forward contributing to the victory.

The win not only extended Galatasaray’s unbeaten start to the season but also saw them increase their lead at the top of the table to five points ahead of Trabzonspor, further underlining their ambitions to retain the Super Lig title.

After the match, Osimhen was full of praise for Sara, highlighting his excellent performance and the positive impact he brings to the squad.

“Gabby is a really great, wonderful person. He makes the locker room interesting. He holds a very special place for me. I’m proud of him and was very happy for his goal,” Osimhen said, speaking to Le Marca Sports.

“Actually, I was expecting him to score from a free kick too, because he scored a lot in training yesterday. But because of this goal, I’m going to take him out to dinner. He deserves it. He’ll be even more confident, much happier, and will work even harder.”

Sara’s goal, which was his first of the campaign, continued the momentum from last season, when he was a key figure in Galatasaray’s league and cup double. His performance in the victory against Göztepe further cemented his growing importance to the team.
