Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has extended his congratulations to his French club, Lille, for ensuring their continued presence in Ligue 1 with one game remaining in the current season. Lille’s crucial 2-1 victory over Dijon on Saturday has secured their spot in the top-flight football league next season, moving them to 15th place with 38 points and four points clear of the relegation zone.
Enyeama, who has been sidelined due to injury and has yet to make an appearance for Lille in the current season, expressed his joy on Twitter. “Bravoo Lille, you have done well. Next season, Ligue 1 football for the city. Bravooo a vous,” the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner tweeted.
While Enyeama has not played for Lille’s first team this season, he took part in matches for Lille B side in the French fourth-tier Championnat National 2 as part of his rehabilitation process. The veteran goalkeeper, in the final year of his contract at Lille, is expected to make decisions about his future with the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Lille’s successful campaign to avoid relegation marks a significant achievement for the team and fans, ensuring their place in Ligue 1 for the upcoming season.
