Vivian Ikechukwu bids farewell to Besiktas ahead of Mexico move

Nigeria international forward Vivian Ikechukwu has announced her departure from Turkish club Besiktas.

The former Rivers Angels striker shared this news on Monday following the expiration of her contract with the club.

Ikechukwu, who joined Besiktas last year on a one-and-a-half-year deal from Lithuanian side FC Gintra, expressed gratitude for the growth and opportunities she experienced during her time with the club.

She thanked the coaching staff, teammates, and backroom staff for their support and for providing her with the platform to showcase her talents.

In a social media post, she wrote: “Thank you for the growth & opportunities you gave me. I appreciate all you have done for me during my stay with this club.

“Thank you to the coaching crew, my teammates and the backroom staffs for giving me the platform to play and wear this beautiful jersey. teşekkürler Besiktas.”

Known for her impactful performance, Ikechukwu notably scored two goals for Nigeria against South Africa during the Aisha Buhari International Invitational Tournament in September 2021. She has yet to announce her next destination after departing Besiktas.
