Nigeria international Victor Boniface has firmly dismissed the possibility of a move to the Premier League despite rumors linking him away from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Super Eagles star forward played a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga triumph, where they went unbeaten throughout the season.
Boniface, who joined Leverkusen from Royale Union SG for €21.7 million last season, enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in Germany.
He amassed impressive stats of 20 goals and 10 assists across 32 appearances in all competitions, earning him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award after claiming multiple Rookie of the Month honors.
In a recent podcast interview titled “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” Boniface expressed his contentment with playing in the Bundesliga and emphasized his focus on winning trophies with Leverkusen.
When asked about a potential move to the Premier League, he stated, “No, I’m fine with the Bundesliga, as long as I’m winning the trophies there, I have no problem.”
Leverkusen, on the other hand, is keen on retaining their key players as they prepare to defend their Bundesliga title in the upcoming season.
Boniface’s commitment to staying in Germany reflects his dedication to Leverkusen’s ambitions and his desire to continue making an impact in the Bundesliga.
