In the build-up to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched a new promotional campaign under the slogan “Born Winners”, spotlighting leading female footballers across the continent, including Nigerian star Asisat Oshoala.
The initiative aims to amplify visibility and recognition for women’s football in Africa, positioning the Born Winners slogan as a declaration of strength, resilience, and ambition.
CAF describes the campaign as both a slogan and a movement, celebrating the fearless, purpose-driven women shaping the future of the game.
Bay FC forward Oshoala, one of Africa’s most decorated footballers, is at the forefront of the campaign.
A product of Nigeria’s Robo FC, she symbolizes the journey from grassroots to global acclaim, embodying the spirit of determination that defines the campaign’s message.
CAF says the campaign is rooted in key values: resilience, ambition, courage, legacy, and community impact. It aims to inspire not only players but also fans and future generations across the continent.
Oshoala is expected to lead the Super Falcons in Morocco as Nigeria seeks a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
