2024 CAF Women’s Champions League: Nigeria’s Edet Glory ruled out of TP Mazembe crucial clash

Ahead of Friday’s crucial Group A cash between TP Mazembe and Aigles de la Medina of Senegal in their last Group A clash, a key player of the Democratic Republic of Congo side, Glory Edet will not feature in the game.

The former Bayelsa Queens player suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tear.

According to medical sources, Nigerian international underwent surgery in Casablanca, Morocco.

She sustained a right knee injury during the second half of the first-round match in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League against University Western Cape (South Africa) in which her team won 2-0 on Saturday, November 9.

Medical exams revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which required surgical intervention.

Edet was part of Bayelsa Queens side which won bronze medal at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.

Mazembe will play its final group-stage match against Senegal’s Aigles de la Médina on Friday, November 15.

With three points after two games, TP Mazembe need a win over the Senegalese side to sail through to the semi final
