“CAF Women’s Champions League to me is just like Nations Cup. I am so glad my team is coming for first time is historic in the women’s league in Nigeria,” Illivieda told CAF.

“The thing is for married women, I will advice them to love their husbands but chase their future because life is up and down.

“What you don’t expect can happen. That’s life so I just want my kids to be the best. I want them to step into my shows and do the great things I have done.”

Illivieda further spoke on how she met her husband three years ago.

“After my training, I think three or four years ago, my teammate was on call with him and she was disturbing my sleep so I managed and slept for a while,” She added.

“She was still on phone for like two hours, then I woke up from the sleep and I was like why are you making calls? What is the problem? You came back from training and need to rest. I took the phone from her andp spoke to him on video call on Whatsapp and that was when the friendship started

“He said to me on our first date that the way I spoke to him I made him feel so cool. Three or four months after he told me, Blessing, I’m in love with you.

“Once I see him in the crowd, I play 1,000% not 100% because seeing his name on my back is kind of a motivation for all female players to know that they can be married and still play football. Seeing him around is great.”

Illivieda recently played with Edo Queens as the team reached the semi final of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.

With the conclusion of the tournament where the team finished fourth, the next focus is the 2024/2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season fo the Benin City based side.
