CHAN 2025: Kwara United trio gets national team invitation for Ghana clash

Nigeria’s Head Coach, Augustine Eguavoen has extended invitations to three Kwara United players ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship, CHAN qualifiers against Ghana. 

The three players are goalkeeper Nurudeen Badmus, midfielder Akanni Akeem, and defender Ibrahim Yahaya and the General manager of the Harmony Boys, Bashir Badawiy confirmed the players invitations just as he wished the players the very best at the camp. 

“Coach Augustine Eguavoen has extended invitations to three additional Kwara United players for the CHAN Eagles camp, namely goalkeeper Nurudeen Badmus, midfielder Akanni Akeem, and defender Ibrahim Yahaya,” Kwara United wrote on X.

The players have since joined the rest of the team on Monday in Abuja. 

The first leg of the qualifying fixture is billed for the weekend of 20th – 22nd December, with the return leg a week later.

The eventual winner from the two-legged fixtures will qualify for the tournament proper to be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
