Former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins has weighed in on Samuel Chukwueze’s recent dip in form, attributing it to a lack of regular playing time at AC Milan.
Martins’ comments have sparked speculation about Chukwueze’s future, with many wondering whether a move could be the key to revitalizing his career.
Speaking on the issue, Martins pointed to the increased competition in the Saudi Pro League, suggesting that a move to the league could benefit Chukwueze.
“The Saudi Pro League is getting more competitive. If a good offer comes along, why not take it?” Martins said.
“What matters most is that he gets back to playing regularly. Rhythm and confidence are crucial for a player like him.”
Martins, who has closely followed Chukwueze’s career, stressed that the winger’s struggles at AC Milan are now affecting his performances for the national team.
“If he wants to remain a key player for Nigeria, he must regain his rhythm. A transfer might be necessary if he wants to keep his place and perform well with the national team,” he added.
Chukwueze has yet to recapture the form that made him a standout player at Villarreal, raising concerns over his consistency and fitness at AC Milan.
