“I’m happy to be part of history”- Asisat Oshoala reacts after Barcelona’s first hat-trick

Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala has expressed her joy in been part of history as her Barcelona side became the first football team to record 50 consecutive league games wins.
The Pichichi winner scored a hat trick in Barcelona 7-0 thrashing of Levante Las Planas in the Liga F and the
former Arsenal Ladies striker is happy scoring her first hat-trick of the season helped the club to a world record feat.
“It was a nice feeling to score my first hat-trick of the season and I’m so pleased that it helped the club achieve a league record,” Oshoala told BBC Sports.
“Personal records count for less if it doesn’t lead to a team success, the team won and we did well. It was a great night for the club and I just hope to continue to make a great contribution for the rest of the season.
“It’s a good thing that we are able to achieve this together. I’m happy to be part of this history with this group and we know every team out there will only be extra motivated to stop us.
“It’s why we can celebrate now but start again in the next game with the same mentality and focus to achieve success.”
Barcelona top the Spanish Liga F table with 45 points from 15 matches, closely followed by Levante who are seven points adrift of the league leaders on 38 points from 16 matches.
Oshoala scored 20 league goals last season to emerge the highest goal scorer as she was awarded the Pichichi prize, she got shortlisted for the Women’s Ballon D’ Or and was placed in the 16th position.
