Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has accused former president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, for embezzling funds paid to the country by FIFA.
The muscian reportedly failed to perform at the ‘Warri Again’ show despite being paid $94,600 and Pinnick recently called out Davido despite allegedly receiving a payment of $94,600 and the organizers booking a private jet of $18,000.
He threatened to teach the singer a lesson, adding that he was becoming too proud despite not being a bigger artist than Burna Boy who is half Itsekiri (Warri).
However, Davido has vowed not to return the money paid to him but would instead double the money and give it to a football charity organization.
Davido had earlier taken to his page on the X platform stating that he would hold back without speaking his mind on the issue.
However, hours later, he retired to his Instagram story where he describing Pinnick as “Mr. Dream Crusher”, he alleged that many Nigerian footballers have had their dreams crushed because of his greed.
“I wanna donate the money to @thenffofficial…been suffering for too long, it’s not fair…let’s do something @puma,” he posted on his Instagram story.
“The man that dropped from the RR is Amaju Pinnick. he was NFF president for just 8 years. He was charged for allegedly misappropriating $8.4m paid by FIFA to NFF. I won’t mention allegations of unpaid allowances by players when he was the president. Let’s play a game.”
