Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq has shed light on his decision to reject offers from several Italian Serie B clubs and opt to join Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda in January. Completesportsnigeria.com reports that Sadiq, on loan from Serie A side AS Roma, has made a significant impact at Breda, scoring five goals in 11 Eredivisie games since his arrival.
In an interview with elfvoetbal.nl, Sadiq revealed that he could have chosen to stay in Italy and be loaned to Serie B clubs but preferred the challenge of playing in a different country. Despite having various options on the table, he was convinced to join NAC Breda when the opportunity arose.
Sadiq emphasized that the decision to play in another country was the right one, and he is confident that NAC Breda will avoid relegation as the season concludes. NAC Breda is currently in the 15th position in the Eredivisie with 30 points from 32 games, three points above the relegation play-off spot. With two games remaining, Sadiq is optimistic about the team’s chances of securing their place in the Eredivisie for the next season.
In addition to his on-field contributions, Sadiq’s commitment to NAC Breda’s survival reflects his dedication to the club’s objectives. NAC Breda is set to face SC Heerenveen in their next game.
