Barrister Paul Edeh, the chairman of the Benue State Football Association (BSFA), expressed his delight at being honored with the Mentor of the Year award at the Africa Sports and Tourism Awards (ASTA).

As the founder of the Ratels Sport Development Foundation (RSDF), Edeh considers this award a rare privilege, especially considering the high esteem in which the award organizers are held.

“I consider winning this award as a rare privilege, despite the significant fame associated with the award organizers,” Edeh stated, emphasizing his commitment to not taking the recognition lightly and pledging to contribute further to sports development, particularly at the grassroots level.

In an interview with BSN Sports, Edeh expressed his gratitude, saying, “To be recognized among the very best in the country, for me, I count it as a very rare privilege that God has given me.”

Acknowledging his relative youth among the recipients, Edeh underscored the significance of the award and his determination to uphold its value. “I know that among all the recipients, I am probably the youngest, and it goes to say that this is indeed an award I will never toy with because it is something every normal human being looks forward to.”

Edeh, the former chairman of NWFL Premiership side Naija Ratels, was elected as the chairman of BSFA last year in Makurdi, further solidifying his commitment to advancing football in Benue State.
