Erling Haaland edges closer to Premier league move

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is edging closer to a move to the Premier League.

The Norwegian striker is attracting interest from both the Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Chelsea in England as well as a chunk of teams around Europe but according to reports, he is keen on moving to England.

The Daily Star reports that Real Madrid, who were the favorites to sign the player, have ‘dropped out’ of the race, and the player’s agent Mino Raiola has already informed his clients in England about the same.

Madrid is said to have opted to pull out of the race to sign Haaland after further considering their transfer plans for the summer. It is estimated that it will cost in the region of £300million to sign Haaland when wages and the transfer fee are taken into account.

It is a route that the Los Blancos doesn’t want to take as they are planning to get Kylian Mbappe from PSG on a free and having the duo would be detrimental for their coffers.

Madrid has long courted the signing of Mbappe and are set to pay an astonishing £1million per week in wages to snap him up.

The 21-year-old has a £67m release clause in his contract at Dortmund that comes active in the summer.
