Fidelis Ilechukwu, the Technical Adviser of Enugu Rangers, expressed his delight after his team’s impressive 2-0 victory over Plateau United on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes secured the win in Matchday 32 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), maintaining their position at the top of the league table.

Goals from Okorie Chidozie and Godwin Obaje, scored in each half, propelled the Coal City team to their first victory in three games.

Ilechukwu, visibly pleased with the result, emphasized the significance of the win, particularly in light of Plateau United’s pre-match boasts about their potential performance.

“It was a great victory for us. I am pleased with the outcome, especially considering the preparations we put into this game,” Ilechukwu told media.

“After struggling in our last two away matches, bouncing back with a win against my former club, who had been boasting so much about this fixture, is particularly satisfying. I thank God for the three points today.”

The victory not only boosts Rangers’ morale but also propels them closer to achieving their season’s objectives. With 57 points from 32 matches, the team is firmly positioned for success as they continue their campaign.

Rangers’ next challenge awaits them in the President Federation Cup against Kano Pillars, scheduled to take place in Abuja on Thursday. The team aims to carry the momentum from this victory into the upcoming fixture as they pursue further success in the competition.
