Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi has hinted that his Nigerian teammate, Victor Osimhen is interested in playing in the Premier League someday.
Osimhen has being on top wish list for Chelsea and Manchester as both teams are still in search of natural centre forward after the want-away Nigerian forward scored 21 Seria A goals this season for Napoli.
The 24-year-old is set to help Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in over three decades as the Naples club are 19 points clear off the Serie A log and the former Lille man could leave this summer but for a deal worth over £100m.
In the podcast interview with The Beautiful Game podcast the Nigerian forward said Osimhen has expressed interest in a Premier League move in the future.
“He has asked but all of them (other Nigeria squad players) ask. All of he ask. I am sure he probably has the ambition to play in the Premier League,” Iwobi said.
When previously asked about a move to Premier League, Osimhen said: “I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day.”
He, however quickly clarified: “Right now, I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. [I’m thinking of] only Napoli.”
