Kaduna Governor Uba Sani approves N2bn to renovate Ahmadu Bello Stadium

Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani has approved the sum of Two Billion Naira (2bn) for the renovation and maiantaince of Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
The funds was said to be captured in the state budget for the year 2024 as submitted by the Governor.
In 2023, the state government had been awarded the full custody of the stadium in a bid to maintain proper supervision and given facelift.
Commissioner for Sports Development in Kaduna State, Professor Benjamin Kumai-Gugon, who received the keys and documents of the stadium from Federal Government officials, acknowledged that the move was a confirmation of Governor Sani’s unwavering commitment to sports and infrastructural development in the state.
Professor Kumai-Gugon said the Ministry would soon commence on the facility full and turn it to a world class edifice suitable to host local, national and international events.
He also solicited support people of the state to safeguard and ensure security within and around the facility.
The commissioner stressed that for the sustainability of the stadium, new policies and measures would be put in place to generate revenue for the maintenance of the stadium.
He however appreciated sports stakeholders in the state for their tireless efforts to sustain sports in Kaduna, which is in line with Senator Sani’s plans to put the state back on the global map through sports as obtained in the past.
