Las Palmas Displays Resilience Despite Defeat to Sevilla Etebo Commits to Marching On

In a keenly contested Spanish LaLiga clash on Saturday, Las Palmas faced a 2-1 home defeat against Sevilla, marking another challenging moment for the struggling team. Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo, who has been a pivotal figure since joining Las Palmas on loan from Portuguese side Feirense in January, downplayed the setback and expressed confidence in the team’s ability to persevere.

Etebo, making his third consecutive start for Las Palmas, acknowledged the efforts of the home crowd, emphasizing the crucial role played by the supporters during the intense encounter. In a tweet following the match, he stated, “Not the result we wanted, but we will march on. Yesterday was a very close game, and our supporters were amazing once again.”

Despite trailing 2-0 due to goals from Wissam Ben Yedder in the 35th minute and Pablo Sarabia in the 50th minute, Las Palmas showcased resilience, with Jonathan Calleri narrowing the deficit to 2-1 with a penalty goal in the 82nd minute .The match also saw the debut of Nigerian teammate Imoh Ezekiel, who entered the game as a second-half substitute, adding a new dimension to Las Palmas’ lineup.
