NFF denies sacking of National teams’ assistant coaches

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has refuted claims of news going round about the termination of appointments of national teams’ assistant coaches.
In a series of post on their official X handle, the NFF described the information as misleading and incorrect.
The statement also clarified that the Federation only effected an already existing policy, with only head coaches currently on salaries while their assistants will be paid based on invitational allowances and match bonuses.
“The NFF’s attention has been drawn to misleading reports in a section of the media that all Assistant Coaches of the National Teams have been sacked. This is incorrect,” the tweet read.
“The Board has done no more than re-enforce an existing policy whereby only Head Coaches of the various teams are salaried, while Assistant Coaches are engaged elsewhere and only earn invitational allowances and match bonuses when they come for National assignments,” the statement concludes.
