Nigeria vice captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed he knows the club Victor Osimhen will join in the summer.
After staying four years with Napoli, Osimhen is expected to leave the Serie A champions in the summer, with his contract containing a €130 million release clause.
Although the reigning African Player of the Year signed a contract extension with the Scudetto winners late last year, he is one of the most sought-after strikers in the world.
The Partenopei have hired three different managers this season and had a disappointing defence of their Scudetto title, languishing in ninth place with eight points behind Bologna in the race for Champions League places.
The Super Eagles star has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.
The 25-year-old has been linked with top teams in Europe including, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich. Arsenal are also in the race for Osimhen, with Gabriel Jesus spending more time on the treatment table than on the pitch, while Manchester United and City seem unlikely to enter the fray.
However, the 2023 AFCON Player of the Tournament, Troost-Ekong has been made aware of Osimhen’s next club.
“I always follow Serie A, it’s a great league,” Troost-Ekong told Sky Sport via TMW.
“This weekend with Salernitana-Udinese will be special for me, also because it was also the last match I played in my last season. The points would certainly be more useful to Salernitana than to Udinese.
“Where will Osimhen play next year? I can’t say anything, but I know.”
The summer transfer window promises to be a dramatic spectacle, and Nigerian fans are right at the heart of it – eagerly awaiting news of Osimhen’s next chapter and ready to support him no matter which jersey he dons.
