NWFL Championship: How Dannaz Ladies qualified to the Premiership

Dannaz Ladies made history as they gained promotion to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership in their fifth year in existence.

The club based in Ikeja, Lagos will be playing against the big guns when the NWFL Premiership 2023/2023 start later this year.

The Cedars were grouped in Group A of the 2022/2023 Championship season alongside Dreamstars Ladies, Pelican Stars, Ekiti Queens, Moje Queens and Kwara Ladies.

Dannaz Ladies defeated Kwara Ladies 2-1 to start their ambition on a good note.

Facing another Kwara based side, The Cedars needed just a lone goal victory to stay on track.

In the match day three, Dannaz Ladies were stunned as Pelican Stars ran away with a 1-0 victory leaving their promotional hopes hanging by the wire.

The loss against Pelican Stars brought out the best in Dannaz Ladies as they ran riot in their next game against Ekiti Queens by thrashing them 3-0 in an emphatic manner.

The victory propelled the Cedars to the top of the NWFL Championship group A on the same points Pelican Stars, and Ekiti Queens, meaning they needed to win their last game by wide goal margin to secure the lone Premiership ticket in the group.

Dannaz Ladies came out blazing high in their last game as they walloped Dreamstars Ladies 3-1 to clinch the NWFL Premiership slot.

The first time in the history of the Ikeja based club as they join Robo Queens in the Premiership from Lagos.
