Taiwo Awoniyi provides assist in Nottimgham Forest’s defeat at Aston Villa

Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi shrugged off another round of injury as he provided assists in Nottimgham Forest’s Premier League 4-2 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Super Eagles’ forward was earlier feared to be facing another spells on the sidelines after his superlative performance in last week’s win over West Ham United.
He was able to pass a late fitness test to be included in Forest’s starting squad at the Villa Park.
An early goal from Oliie Watkins and a brace from Douglas Luiz for Aston Villa made the Tricky Trees chasing the game from the get go.
Awoniyi fed Moussa Niakhite with a through pass to score and reduced the deficit to two goals before half time.
The 26 year old Awoniyi has now recorded six goals and three assists in 15 appearances for Nottimgham Forest this season.
Morgan Gibbs-White scored the second for the Forest after break to make it 3-2.
Leon Bailey restored Villa’s two goal cushion on the stroke of the hour after a perfect team build up.
Aston Villa were able to renewed their believe to end the season in a Champions League places with a win while Nottimgham will need a positive response from the defeat to steer clear from the drop zone.
