Tems, Ayra Starr link up with Bukayo Saka after Arsenal defeat

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigerian Afrobeats stars Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known as Ayra Starr, and Grammy Award winner Temilade Openiyi (Tems) were among the disappointed spectators as Arsenal suffered a painful 1-0 loss to West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal, who are in a tight race with Liverpool for the Premier League title, were undone by a solitary goal from Jarrod Bowen.

The West Ham forward rose to meet a cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, heading it past goalkeeper David Raya to hand the visitors a crucial victory.

Tems shared the experience on her Instagram story on Saturday, February 22, posting images from the stands where she and Ayra Starr were watching the match, their attention focused on the action on the pitch.

However, the real highlight of their evening came after the game when they had the opportunity to meet Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.

The two Afrobeats stars posed for a picture with Saka, the England international of Nigerian descent, much to the delight of fans.

Tems’ visit to the Emirates came just a week after she made headlines for becoming a co-owner of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) San Diego FC, marking another significant milestone in her growing influence both in music and sports.
