Tolu Arokodare was the super-sub as he came off the bench to score twice for Genk to smash past champions, Royal Antwerp 3-0 at the Cegeka Arena on Tuesday.
The Nigerian international stole the spotlight against his compatriots Chidera Ejuke, Alhassan Yusuf, and George Ilenikhena on boxing day.
All four players started on the bench for their respective clubs. With the home side leading 1-0 thanks to a first-half strike from Alieu Fadera, Genk replaced Christopher Bonsu Baah with their Nigerian giant in the 69th minute.
Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke were both also second-half subs for Antwerp.
However, Arokodare only needed six minutes on the pitch for his first goal which was made in Nigeria as he slid home a low cross from compatriot Yira Sor.
The 23-year-old doubled his goal for the night in the 77th minute with a brilliant solo effort.
He became just the second player this season to score twice after coming on as a substitute in a Belgian Pro League game. He has now netted nine goals in all competitions, including six in the league.
The win means Genk are now fourth on the table two points clear of Antwerp who dropped out of the Top-4 to sixth.
