‘Victor Osimhen not playing like £100 million player’ -Steve McManaman

Former Liverpool and Real Madrid star, Steve McManaman has made a damning statement about Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international has been one of the best strikers in the world for the last two years after helping Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years with his 26 goals in 32 appearances for the club.

The 25-year-old who recently penned a new deal keeping him at the club till 2026, with a new release clause of over £100m, has been linked with a transfer away from Naples in recent months with Chelsea and Arsenal monitoring his affairs.

However, McManaman believes the value is ridiculous and only Premier League clubs can afford it.

“His sellable value means it has to be the Premier League because German clubs do not have the finances,” he said on TNT Sports.

“The big teams in Spain have not got the finances, particularly if Real Madrid take Mbappe.

“The only place he can go is the Premier League and he is certainly not playing like a £100 million player and that is what they want for him.”
