Akwa Ibom state representative at the 20234 President Federation Cup, FC ONE Rocket thrashed Eburuaja (Imo state) 5-0 in the Round of 64 of the Cup tournament in Aba on Wednesday.

Mendos Rickson put the Eket-based side ahead in the 15th minute of play before Paul Aver doubled the lead.

Three goals in the second half by Bidemi Obodu, Onotu Emmanuel, and Collins Linus sealed a handsome 5-0 victory and a place in the Round of 32.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, on Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, beat Solution FC of Anambra 3-2 via penalties to qualify for the round of 32 of the 2024 President Federation Cup.

The Ibadan soccer lords were on the verge of a shocking elimination after going down 1-0 in the 78th minute but were saved by a brilliant free kick by substitute Mustapha Adams Agba’a, who struck on the dot of 90 minutes.

Shooting Stars were reduced to 10 men late in the first half when left-back Ehibe Victor, was expelled after committing a second bookable offence.

In the ensuing penalty shootout, Gali Falke had his kick saved while the trio of Mustapha Adams, Ayodeji Bamidele, and Alex Aghahowa converted theirs.

Goalkeeper Odah Okemute dived well enough to save Solution FC’s last kick after they had initially lost two kicks, thus rendering Shooting Stars’s last kick inconsequential.

Elsewhere, Terdoo Shimagande’s goal handed Nasarawa United a 1-0 win over FC Bako (Kogi state).

Kebbi United edged Ine Stars 2-1 while Hammola International (Osun state) pipped Ogun state FA Cup winners 4-3 on penalties after regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw.
