Sunshine Stars sign 19 players, promote four for NPFL campaign

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars have signed 19 new players to prosecute the 2024/2025 league season.

They also promoted four players from the youth team into the main squad, including Emmanuel Ofori (Remo Stars) and Obiazor David (Bendel Insurance) are the new goalkeepers signed by Kennedy Boboye’s led side.

Outfield players include Seth Mayi (Remo Stars), Achi Nnaemeka (Remo Stars), Seidu Salisu (Plateau United), Stephen Chukwude (Heartland FC), Peace Dewan (Gombe United), Lucky Vandy (Gombe United), Yusuf Olowoshile (Bendel Insurance), Adamu Umar (Doma United), and Adewale Yusuf (Shooting Stars).

Other outfield players that joined the club are Dozie Nwanna (Gombe United), Arunta Elmer (Enugu Rangers), Benjamin Oluyomade (Abia Comet), Seun Owoade (Inter Lagos), Ismail Ayodele (Osun United), Olaoluwa Oki (Soccer Talent Academy), Adeolu Gabriel (Solution FC), and Manuwa Kayode (Agbo Boys Academy).

Shettima Mongulo, Oluwole Kehinde, Ismail Amid, and Precious Olowojesiku were promoted to the main team from the youth team.

Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars started their 2024/2025 NPFL campaign with a 3-0 win over Bayelsa United on Sunday.

The game was their first at the adopted Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.

The Akure Township stadium, the club home ground is currently under renovation.
