Cash rain on Ibom Angels after NWFL Premiership promotion

Ibom Angels returned to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital to meet cash reward after securing promotion ticket to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
Governor of the Akwa Ibom state, Umoh Eno received the team and made cash donation of five million Naira for their superlative performance at the NWFL Championship, qualifying to the country’s top-flight.
He was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Sir Monday Uko.
Ibom Angels defeated high scoring Osun Babes 2-0 in the NWFL Championship promotion playoffs match at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Sunday.
They secured promotion alongside Honey Badgers which edged host, Pelican Stars 1-0.
After five games in the second tier, Edwin Okon side won all their matches to end the campaign with a perfect record.
With similar feat of returning to the top flight immediately after relegation in 2021, the focus this time around is to maintain their status in the NWFL Premiership when the 2024/2025 season get underway.
