Sensational Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed optimism about his chances of earning a call-up to the national team, promising to maintain his impressive form to attract attention.

Arokodare, who plays for Genk, has been in outstanding form this season, scoring seven goals in just 11 league appearances for the Belgian side.

Despite his fine performances, the 23-year-old has yet to receive an invitation to the Super Eagles.

However, Arokodare remains focused on continuing to give his best and believes his consistent performances will eventually lead to a national team call-up.

“For the national team, I know that I have to play at a high level consistently over the long term,” he told De Standard.

“If a Nigerian striker can score three times in the Premier League or the Bundesliga, I know I have to score at least eight times to be considered for the call-up.”

Arokodare also stated that representing his country would be a dream, but he remains committed to his club if the national team does not come calling.

“It would be great to wear the shirt of my country, but if the national coach does not call me up, I still have my club to focus on,” he concluded.
