By Dayo Awoniyi

Nigeria striker Cyril Dessers has been named Rangers’ top scorer for the 2024/2025 season after netting 24 goals across all competitions.

The 30-year-old Nigerian forward capped off an impressive campaign by scoring in the club’s 2-2 draw against St Mirren on Saturday, a goal that sealed his position as the team’s most prolific player under manager Barry Ferguson.

Dessers’ tally surpasses last season’s top scorer, club captain James Tavernier, and marks his best scoring season since joining the Scottish giants.

The accolade represents a significant personal milestone for Dessers, who has become a key figure in Rangers’ attacking setup.

His consistent performances have been crucial in the club’s push for domestic and European success this season.
