Cyriel Dessers set to join former Scottish champions, Rangers
By: Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international, Cyriel Dessers, is set for a move to former Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.
Dessers joined Cremonese from Genk last summer after the Italian side had just got promoted to Serie A.
The Cremonese striker churn out six goals and two assists following a disappointing season that got them relegated as they finished 19th.
The Super Eagles star managed 26 appearances in the Serie A and started 19 of those games.
The 28-year-old was part of the Feyenoord team that got to the final of the maiden UEFA Europa Conference League final.
Although they narrowly lost 1-0 to Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma, Dessers finished highest goalscorer with nine goals in the competition while on loan from Genk.
According to Italian transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Dessers and Rangers are close to a deal.
Both clubs have agreed on a fee, and they need to draft the documents before the transfer happens.
Romano revealed this on Friday evening on his official social media account.
“Understand Rangers are closing in on a deal for Cyriel Dessers,” the journalist wrote.
“Agreement now imminent with Cremonese for Nigerian striker — here we go soon.”
The Dutch-born striker could become the latest Nigerian to play for the Gers if he completes the move to Glasglow.
Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey were Super Eagles stars who had played for Rangers.
