By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria superstar Victor Osimhen, riding high after scoring two crucial goals in Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-1 victory over Trabzonspor, took a moment to express his gratitude to his teammates, the club’s passionate supporters, and his family following his record-breaking performance.

“Of course, the record is a great achievement, but I would like to thank my teammates very much, especially today, Yunus was very unifying,” Osimhen said in an interview on the club’s website.

“Goals make me happy, of course, but I want to repay the support my teammates have given me since I arrived here with goals.”

Osimhen, whose connection with the club has deepened throughout the season, shared his pride in achieving such a milestone with Galatasaray.

“I’m very happy to score goals, but it’s a special pleasure for me to go down in the history of this great club. We will continue to fight until the end of the season,” he affirmed, fully focused on further success.

The striker also acknowledged the extraordinary passion and loyalty of Galatasaray’s supporters, which has been a major source of motivation for him.

“I really can’t express how much it means to me; they show me so much love. There is a fan base here that gives everything for the team.

“It’s an incredible passion that I’ve never experienced in my career,” he expressed with deep emotion.

As Osimhen eyes the remainder of the season, he also faces a significant personal decision.

“Finally, I have to make a very big decision. Everyone at the club, the fans, and my family have been really supportive throughout this process.

“I would also like to thank my daughter and send my regards from here. I will continue to give everything for the team until the end of the season. Then, we will make our decisions,” he shared.

Having already clinched the Turkish Cup, the dynamic 26-year-old is now laser-focused on securing the Turkish Super Lig title for the Yellow-Reds and completing a historic season.
