Ifeoma Onumonu scores in fourth consecutive game against Saint Etienne

Nigeria forward Ifeoma Onumonu was on target for the French women’s side, Montpellier, during a 2-0 win at Saint Etienne on Saturday.

First-half goals from Lola Gstalter and Onumonu lifted the visitors to consecutive victories.

Gstalter opened scoring for the travelers in the second minute of play at the Stade Salif Keita.

She set up Onumonu who doubled the lead in the 42nd minute against the ten-player Saint Etienne.

Saint Etienne was reduced to ten players after Chloe Tapia received her second yellow card in the 90th minute.

Onumonu, who received a yellow card in the 76th minute, was replaced by Rose Kadzere in the 87th minute.

She has scored five goals with an assist in eight league games.

The goal against Saint Etienne was her fourth consecutive goal in the league after finding the back of the net against FC Nantes, Paris FC, and Guingamp.

Overall, Montpellier occupy the fourth position with 16 points after nine games.

They will next Dijon in another league encounter on December 7, 2024.
