Jamal Musiala: Bayern Munich star refuses to pick between Nigeria and Germany

Bayern Munich forward of Nigerian descent, Jamal Musiala found himself at a crossroads after being quizzed to pick between Nigeria and Germany.

Born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father and German mother and raised in England from the age of seven, the young player pledged allegiance to Germany – the country of his birth.

The 21-year-old had plenty of options on the international stage having eligibility for all three nations.

However, having risen through the youth ranks with the German national set-up, he made his senior debut in March 2021 and has since made 27 appearances for Deutsches Haus.

Despite that, he still holds a deep affection and respect for his Nigerian roots and English upbringing

“Out of respect, I can’t answer that. I have respect for both, I love both,” he said during a fun Q&A session with posted on the social media platform Tiktok.
