Bayern Munich forward Jamal Musiala has declared his love for Nigerian delicacy, Fufu.

The 21-year-old midfielder of Nigerian descent, confessed during a recent light-hearted video interview on “How Hungry Are You”.

Despite being raised in England, the young player was born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father, giving him the eligibility to represent the Super Eagles but he pledged allegiance to Germany – the country of his birth.

The German international admitted that he loves Fufu because his dad usually makes this dish while growing up.

However, Musiala is not the first player of Nigerian descent to declare his love for this delicacy.

Recall that Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi also revealed his love for Fufu, saying the reason for his speed on the pitch is because he eats Fufu.

Unlike Adeyemi, the Bayern footballer has not visited Nigeria before, but his declaration sheds light on his strong connection to Nigerian roots.

The famous delicacy is however a staple not just in Nigeria, but across much of West Africa.

When asked to rate his hunger levels, Musiala responded cheekily: “After eating fufu.” in a video posted on TikTok.

“My dad is from Nigeria, and while I was growing up, he made this dish every now and then, while I was back in England,” the German international said.
