Netherlands-born Nigeria international Jennifer Echegini has explained the rationale behind her move to Juventus.
The Old Ladies took to social media to confirm the signing of the talented forward who netted 16 goals last year for her Florida State University (FSU) team.
The 22-year-old became the latest player to switch to Italy after her move to the Serie A Femminile side was completed on Thursday evening.
Born in the Netherlands and raised in England, she plays for the Nigeria national team and made the Super Falcons squad for last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking in her first interview with the club, the Super Falcons star says she wants the best and has come to win everything in a location she likes.
“I like the competitiveness of the league itself,” Echegini stated in a video posted by Juventus Women on their X account.
“The team itself, they win practically everything. I like Joe as a coach, and I like the location, and how things are run here (in Turin) – it is a place where I can push myself, and win things, I want to go to the best – a place that can help me be the best.”
